Description

Heaven's Door is a brand produced in collaboration with Bob Dylan, who also designed the label based on iron gates he created in his metalworking studio. This expression is a straight rye whiskey distilled in Tennessee and aged for seven years in new, charred American oak barrels. It is then finished in toasted oak cigar barrels, harvested and air-dried in the low-lying mountainous region of Vosges, France.

Nose
silky-soft aromas of oak, oranges, caramel and coriander. Herbaceous, apple and citrus, spearmint and oak.
Palate
soft and mild with an elegant spice, the cigar barrels have an exclusive influence - clearly again orange peel, coriander and spices. Honey coated marzipan, fresh cut grass, fennel, dill, clove, cinnamon, black pepper and orange peel, chamomile and cedar.
Finish
Medium long finish. Slowly more peppery. Dry. Lovely peppery notes towards the end, the rye finally shining through. Toasted oak as well, lifting the whole experience a fair bit.
