Description
Founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy, an Irish officer in Louis XV's army, Hennessy is one of the most well-recognised cognac houses. Only decades after its establishment, the French spirit started to gain popularity in the United States and Britain's Prince of Wales (later to become King George IV) requested that the brand should create a "very superior old pale cognac"; hence the birth of the V.S.O.P. The Hennessy Napoleon Cognac is a tribute to power, refinement, and timeless French craftsmanship, originally created to honor Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. This expression is positioned historically between the VSOP and XO classifications, featuring a curated selection of older, mature eaux-de-vie sourced from the finest crus within the Cognac region, aged for decades in French Limousin oak casks.
