Description

Released as a limited edition, this Hennessy Private Reserve Grande Champagne Cognac is a recreation of a blend originally formulated in 1865 to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary. It is an assembly of eleven eaux-de-vie sourced exclusively from the Grande Champagne growing region, the most prestigious terroir in the Cognac appellation. The blend has matured for an average of 60 years, with a small portion being from 1865 as the oldest component. Each bottle is individually numbered.

Nose
Rich and elegantly complex, with candied orange peel, dried apricot, dark honey, antique leather, roasted almond, vanilla, and a distinctive rancio quality. Floral, green citrus notes are also present.
Palate
Silky and full, with dark chocolate, dried fig, cinnamon, orange marmalade, aged oak, and a warm floral sweetness. A spicy note to start, with lots of oak and old grain leather, followed by vanilla, almonds, and very dark ripe cherries and figs.
Finish
Long and resonant, with polished leather, dried fruits, toasted oak, and a lingering warmth and sweetness. Infused with spices, lemon zest, saffron, and French oak.
