Description
This Highland Park 21 Year Old 2022 Release is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky crafted from just 14 casks, laid down in 2000 and earlier years. Matured solely within the 19 dunnage and 4 racking warehouses at the distillery in Kirkwall, Orkney, it was hand-selected by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion. The whisky is naturally deep golden in colour, with no additives, and is bottled at 46% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and showcases a complex balance achieved through the marriage of first-fill sherry seasoned European oak hogsheads, ex-bourbon barrels, and refill hogsheads. Slow maturation in the Island warehouse allows rich flavours of ginger, spices, sweet citrus, and vanilla to come to the fore, with refill casks adding fresh fruit and oak.
