Description
Highland Park remains the most northerly whisky distillery in Scotland, although not by much, as it is little more than a stone's throw from fellow Orcadian, Scapa. Accounts of the distillery's genesis vary, and the truth is probably lost to the mists of time, but it is thought that a local farmer named David Robertson founded what we now know as Highland Park distillery in 1798, on the site of an ancient Viking settlement. Highland Park 12 Year Old Viking Honour is a celebrated single malt whisky from the Orkney Islands, Scotland, embodying the rich history and rugged spirit of the Vikings. Aged for 12 years in a combination of European sherry casks and American oak casks, this expression is exceptionally balanced, offering a harmonious blend of sweet, smoky, and spicy elements. With a whisky experience that is both complex and accessible, it is ideal for both whisky novices and seasoned enthusiasts looking to explore the unique flavors of Orkney. [3, 11]
