Description

The Single Cask comprises of offices in London and Singapore and an online store with their flagship bar ''The Single Cask'' based in Caldwell House, Chijmes Singapore. Run by Ben Curtis - who has been importing single cask whisky in South East Asia for many years - the company specialises in independent bottlings and more obscure distilleries. This particular release is a Whitlaw, a pseudonym for Highland Park Distillery, distilled in 2015 and aged for 5 years in a 2nd Fill PX Octave cask, bottled in 2021.

Nose
Herbal. Tarragon, sage and basil. Some subtle medicinal notes. Porridge with honey and clementine segments. Apples and pears roasted with lots of burnt brown sugar. Pine and tree bark.
Palate
Medium-full bodied. Intense, with ginger heat. Concentrated tropical notes of ripe pineapple and papaya, with honey-coated granola. Raisins, sultanas and dried apple pieces.
Finish
Medium-long. Tropical notes give way to caramel and tannins.
