Description

Hinotori Single Malt is the first single malt release from the revived Hekinan Distillery, located in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The distillery, originally founded in 1949, restarted production in 2019 after being dormant for many years. This expression is crafted from a blend of 70% unpeated malt and 30% peated malt (50 PPM), and matured for nearly four years in new American oak casks. Bottled at 45% ABV, it offers a balanced profile with a gentle smokiness, reflecting the humid subtropical climate of the region and the use of fresh water from the Yahagi River.
