Nose
Spicy notes complimented by charred white oak barrels, with a cornucopia of oak and wafts of spice subdued by wood. It is very soothing and pleasing, not hot at all, with evident mellowness.
Palate
Caramelized sugars delicately balance with peppery rye flavor. It presents as a muted rye with less spice, more thickness, and hints of tobacco. Dark and almost bitter sweetness, like dark cocoa, with rich initial flavors of dark chocolate mingling with dried fruits.
Finish
Smooth and slightly warming, with a very long, almost Scotch-like length. It lingers with high resin overpowering the char, and predominantly bitter wood tannins duking it out with deep sweetness. Despite this, the finish is very smooth and mellow, with warm oak notes complemented by subtle sweetness.
