Description

A historic brand of Kentucky straight bourbon, currently produced by Diageo. It was originally devised by the Bernheim brothers in 1872 and despite a period where it was only available in export markets, it has been in production ever since, even bottled as medicinal whiskey during Prohibition.

Nose
Inviting and complex, with prominent sweetness, vanilla, caramel, honey, gentle oakiness, and a touch of spice. Some notes of cinnamon, dry hickory nuts, floral deep rose, and workshop wood.
Palate
Smooth and balanced, with rich vanilla and caramel. Light, creamy texture, layers of toasted oak, mild spiciness, black pepper, orange, ground clove, dark caramel, or burnt sugar. Some describe it as sweet with vanilla sugar, buttercream frosting, and pear juice, transitioning to white pepper, star anise, nutmeg, and old dry oak.
Finish
Long and lingering, with a gentle warmth. Sweetness of vanilla and caramel persists, with oak and spice notes providing a pleasant contrast. Some notes of slightly bitter orange and pepper.
