Description

This is an independent bottling by Gordon & MacPhail of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Imperial distillery. Distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2008, this whisky comes from the now-defunct Imperial distillery, which closed in 1998 and was demolished in 2013. Gordon & MacPhail, founded in 1895, is a renowned independent bottler known for its extensive range of single malt whiskies.

Nose
Sweet and gentle, fruity and floral, with notes of stewed pears, tinned peaches, elderflower, mango, starfruit, lychee, muscat grapes, citrus peels, lavender, violets, beeswax, and cedar-y spice. Mild sherry-cask influence emerges.
Palate
Light texture with tangerine, nectarine, beeswax, white chocolate, fragrant oak, milk chocolate, dunnage-y notes, pineapple, pear, red apples, and a little black pepper. Honey and vanilla, accented with subtle almond.
Finish
Medium-short, with a hint of soap, nougat, honey, sweet citrus, and mango. Long and lingering with spiced oak and citrus.
