Description

Signatory Vintage was founded by Andrew Symington in 1999. After discovering single cask single malt whisky while managing Prestonfield House Hotel, Andrew bought his first cask, a Glenlivet 1968, and is now one of the largest independent bottlers in Scotland. As of 2002, Signatory Vintage Whisky company is also the owner of the Edradour distillery. Imperial Distillery was designed by Charles C. Doig and established in 1897. It was equipped with four huge stills but closed in 1998 and was demolished in 2013. This bottling by independent bottler Signatory Vintage is part of their Cask Strength Collection.

Bursting with citrus oils, bitter oranges, fresh, juicy, spritzy, with darker perfume, heavy caramel, toasted oak, and a hint of nuttiness. Also noted as rich, spicy, fruity, waxy, with honey, kumquats, lemon peel, green apple, and elegant mineral notes.
Palate
Medium-bodied, exceptionally smooth, light as silk, with delicate caramel, ice cream, strawberries, ginger, oily and rich. Also described as rich and fruity, with mango, kumquat, peaches, pleasant woody character, lemony sweetness, earthiness, cotton candy, spicy white pepper, and bitter oak.
Finish
Medium to long, oily, creamy, citrusy, with spiciness and oakiness. Also noted as having citrus fruits remaining with some oak and a warming finish, bitterish, and a combination of dryness, sweetness, candy, roasted marshmallow, and barley.
