Description

A premium line of single cask Scotch whisky bottlings introduced by Douglas Laing & Co in 2001. It was reserved for the company's best stocks and this ethos has been retained by Hunter Laing & Co which acquired the rights to the brand in 2013 and still produces it today. Imperial was a former malt distillery in the Speyside region that sadly spent as much time in mothballs as it did distilling. It longest operational period was under ownership of the Distillers Company.

Nose
Sweet Christmas pudding with sherry toffee and vanilla notes. Heather honey, elderflower, honeysuckle, dunnage, shortcrust pastry, warm Victoria sponge cake, lemon thyme, mango, and honey dew melon.
Palate
Initially sweet with sultanas and raisins marinated in sherry, predominating with a buttery creamy mouthfeel. Oily, maple plait, banana bread, apples, mango, heather, crystalline ginger, orange peel, and Demerara sugar.
Finish
A long, satisfying, and sweet finish with a touch of sherry wood and a little woodiness.
