Description

A coastal malt distillery located outside Speyside town of Buckie. It was built in 1871 and notably acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1938, becoming a key component of its Bell's blends. It remains primarily in service to blended Scotch brand today as part of the extensive Diageo portfolio. Watt Whisky is the flagship brand of the Scottish independent bottler, Campbeltown Whisky Company. It was part of the second wave of whiskies from Watt Whisky.

Nose
Quite shy in the beginning but I already like what I am nosing here: Woolen blankets, straw bales and raw honey. Beeswax lip balm and juniper berries. Adding a few drops of water: Golden Delicious apples, Asian pears and pebbles in the river. Unmalted barley steeped in water and candle wax.
Palate
Olive brine, dirty martini..! Yum... Pine cones, allspice and ground ginger. Honeycombs, green banana peppers and candied coriander seeds. It gets less vegetal and a little sweeter after adding some water. Half baked sugar cookies, white chocolate and vanilla frosting.
Finish
Medium to long with white spices: ground ginger, ground coriander and ground white pepper.
