Description
Indri Agneya is a lightly peated Indian single malt whisky produced by Piccadily Distilleries in Indri, Haryana, India. It is double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills from six-row barley sourced from family farmers in Bundi, Rajasthan. The malt is kilned with peat imported from Scotland to reach 25 ppm phenol levels. The whisky is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, with some sources also mentioning Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and has no added coloring. Agneya, derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "belonging to fire," is a core range expression known for balancing delicate peat smoke with fruity and spicy malt notes.
