Description

Indri Diwali Collector's Edition 2024 is a limited-edition peated single malt Indian whisky, crafted by Piccadily Distilleries in Indri, Haryana, India. This annual release celebrates the Hindu festival of Diwali and is matured in sherry casks. Bottled at 58.5% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and made from peated Indian six-row barley. The whisky is known for its balance of smoky notes with fruity, sweet undertones, reflecting maturation in Northern India's unique sub-tropical climate which accelerates the aging process. The 2024 edition has received multiple awards, including Platinum at the Las Vegas Global Spirit Awards.

Nose
Well-integrated gentle smoky and Sherry notes, harmoniously balanced with a bold character. Aromas of dry fruits like dates and raisins, complemented by caramel and wet-earth undertones. Also notes of floral mint, chocolate, stewed plums, and toasted oak. Some detect vanilla custard, macadamia nuts, embers, peanut shells, grilled pineapples, and peaches.
Palate
Subtly sweet, fruity, chewable whisky, with a gentle hint of peat elegantly intertwined. Its malty character is balanced with appropriate oak, tannins, and spice, creating a rounded and bold palate with hints of sweetness and saltiness. Hints of cinnamon and dates, brown sugar, smoked plums, black cherries, a slight saline touch, crème caramel, toffee, prosciutto di parma, and damp, charred oak.
Finish
An elegant dram with a fine balance and a delightful lingering finish. Medium length with gentle wood smoke and a jammy, fruity sweetness. Long with spicy notes.
