Description

This limited edition 16 year old single malt was laid down in 1987 at the Dumbarton Inverleven distillery (sadly mothballed in 1991, then later demolished in 2002) and bottled for Wm Cadenhead's Authentic Collection in October 2003. Filled at a natural strength 58.5% ABV from a single Bourbon hogshead, this rare Lowlander is one of just 258 bottles and comes in great condition with original presentation tube.

Series highlights
Cadenhead's Authentic Collection. This series features single cask, cask strength whiskies from active and closed distilleries, bottled without chill-filtration or artificial coloring, and often in limited numbers.
Historical context
Inverleven distillery was mothballed in 1991 and demolished in 2002, making this a bottling from a 'ghost distillery'.
Special release
Exclusive to Cadenhead's shops.
Allocation
Exclusive to Cadenhead's shops.
Nose
Grassy and fresh, like sitting by a roadside ditch on a summer day. Plenty of citrus and bright fruit.
Palate
Dry and spicy with the warmth of full cask strength. A sweet core beneath the sharpness, with grain and pale fruit.
Finish
Medium length, clean and citrus‑driven. The warmth fades slowly.
