Description

That Boutique-Y Whisky Company bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with humorous puns presented in cultish comic-book style labels, aiming to tell the histories and stories of distilleries or prominent figures in the industry in an exciting way. This particular release is a 13 Year Old Irish Single Malt, Batch #3, with a label featuring a horse head surrounded by psychedelic colors and floating sugar cubes.

Nose
White grapes, red apples and cooked pears. Plenty of vanilla-rich wafts follow, along with a touch of coconut. Floral, fresh linen, grapes, apples, toffee, a touch of acetone maybe. Fruity and Floral; Banana skins and Melon initially, softening to Banana custard. Jasmine brings the floral element. Hints of icing sugar and cinnamon spice.
Palate
Bright citrus notes kick things off, joined by nectarine, quince, milky coffee and praline. Nice spices at the beginning, citrus, chocolate, apple skins, and toffee. Melon and pears are at the forefront, but partnered now with a smattering of shortbread and a slight butteriness, both in the taste and mouth feel. Soft and sweet initially, Cantaloupe melon, brown sugar, then warming woody spices follow.
Finish
Slightly nutty on the finish with almond and walnut, though still rich in fresh fruit sweetness. Good length – medium to long with wood spice. Only time a hint of oak is picked up is at the end and the vanilla certainly makes an appearance again. A nice balance between sweet melon and wood spice that lingers.
