Description

This is a splendid 30-year-old single malt whisky from an undisclosed Islay distillery, independently bottled by Thompson Bros. Distilled in 1991, it was matured in a single refill barrel and bottled in March 2022. This rare release yielded only 260 bottles.

Rich with soft peat smoke, hints of tar, baked apples, chocolate lime, pink shrimp sweets, mulchy leaves, beach bonfires, singed lime peel, seaweed, salted caramel, lemon grass, poached seafood, tropical fruits, warm beeswax, antique library books, dried lavender, eucalyptus, and expensive cigar tobacco.

Gentle, sweet smoke, chocolate limes, mint fondant, sweet apples, damp oak, menthol, fruity dark chocolate, smooth texture, rich smoke and peat balanced with tropical fruits, warming rich salted toffee, poached pears, BBQ embers with dry spices, citrus, dark honey, sweet smoke, leather, parchment, coastal flavours, liquid silk, overripe mango, guava, savory, medicinal core of iodine, sea buckthorn, oily salinity.
Finish
Mint choc chips, mulchy leaves, lingering, minerally peat smoke, exceedingly long, preserved lemons, sandalwood, faint, ghostly bonfire smoke.
