Description

The Isle of Harris distillery started in 2015 with the ambition to create a sustainable business that values and involves the local community. The Hearach is the first single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris, made with 100% Scottish Concerto barley, long fermentations (70-120 hours), and matured for at least five years in a combination of first-fill bourbon, Oloroso sherry, and Fino butts. It is bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or added coloring. Each batch, including this First Release Batch #2, is made with the same recipe but has subtle, natural variations reflecting the chosen casks and marrying period.
