Description

This is a beautifully aged 1976 vintage from the Isle of Jura distillery, bottled in 2011 as a 35-year-old limited edition. Its Gaelic name, 'Feith A' Chaorainn', translates to 'The lands around the Rowan tree', referencing a local legend about good luck. The whisky was matured in three ex-bourbon barrels and only 500 bottles were produced.

Nose
Rich spiced oak, zesty citrus, honey, vanilla, caramel, and subtle smoke. Bright citrus zest, orange-blossom honey, and bold woody spice.
Palate
Full and fruity with Brazil nuts, drying oak, dried mango, sultana, and crumbly biscuits. Balanced by tropical fruit cake, rich malt, cinnamon, anise, and vanilla caramels.
Finish
Exquisitely long and dry with lingering delicately smoked sea-saltiness, dark chocolate, and licorice.
