Nose
Very fruity up-front, with notes of rye, vanilla, spice, oak, apple, maple, corn, cherries, cinnamon, caramel, butter, and banana. Complex with hints of wet straw, lilacs, brown sugar, chocolate mint, rye bread, ginger baking spices, honeycomb, and a mild tannic black tea note.
Palate
Huge blast of fresh cherries, apple, pear, and sour cherries. Orange peel, lots of vanilla and caramel, heavy cinnamon, cloves. Very bourbon-like with virgin wood coming through. Savoury, herbal, spicy rye notes, fresh brioche, and a touch of basil. Rich and syrupy with grain sweetness and toasted oak.
Finish
Nice lingering, medium-long finish. Fruit notes (dried and candied, dried banana, plantain chips), nuts (peanut), vanilla, more rye spice, and charred oakiness. Warm afterglow, creamy smooth, and spicy. Long, with waves of baking spices and oak.
