The hickory is immediately noticeable, with back notes of caramel, vanilla, and apples. It is seductively sweet and noticeably burnt, reminiscent of toasted malted barley.
Palate
Features a non-cloying sweetness and prevalent sweet hickory smoke. Nuanced flavors of oak, vanilla, caramel, red fruit, and honey are present. Bursts with sensations of overcooked fruits, burnt almonds, and hickory smoke.
Finish
Long and warming, with pleasant splashes of burnt custard, over-cooked creme brûlée, and charred hickory wood.
