Description
Jameson 12 Year Old Special Reserve is a triple-distilled, blended Irish whiskey, comprised of pot still whiskey (made from both malted and unmalted barley) and fine grain whiskey. It is matured for a minimum of 12 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks and Spanish Oloroso ex-sherry butts, imparting deep, woody flavors and full-bodied characteristics. This expression was originally known as "1780" in reference to the founding year of the Jameson distillery in Dublin. It was released to replace the 1780 Special Reserve and is gently matured in sherry wood. This particular bottling is 90 proof (45% ABV) and was produced for the Duty Free market, specifically for export to the U.S.A. [9, 14, 18, 22, Image]
