Description
Established in 1780 by John Jameson, the sprawling Bow Street Distillery in the heart of Dublin was described as "a city within a city", boasting an onsite Cooperage, saw mill and copper smith. Unfortunately, due to a downturn in the fortunes of the Irish whiskey industry, brought about in part by American Prohibition and the rising popularity of blended Scotch, Jameson were forced to join forces with other distilleries. Jameson is a blended Irish whiskey, triple-distilled for smoothness, combining pot still and grain whiskies, made from malted and unmalted barley. It is produced at the New Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland.
