Description

Bottled in 2020, this spectacular presentation from John Walker and Sons is the Master's Ruby Reserve. The blend is a vatting of eight casks matured for at least 40 years, sourced from Talisker, Royal Lochnagar, Cragganmore, Glendullan, Cambus, Carsebridge, Pittyvaich and Port Ellen distilleries. It was produced by then master blender Dr Jim Beveridge, to celebrate his 40th anniversary in the industry. This limited edition is presented in a beautiful, hand-crafted golden-red Baccarat crystal decanter within a bespoke wooden case.

Nose
Rich layers of treacle toffee from Cambus, caramelised apple and autumnal soft fruit from Pittyvaich, dark chocolate, plums and cherries. Notes of dark fruits from Royal Lochnagar and Cragganmore combine with pink peppercorn spice and sea salt.
Palate
Full-bodied and rich. Initial layers of Talisker and Port Ellen's warming maritime smoke combine with cocoa nibs, balanced by the berries and currants of Glendullan and Carsebridge. Flavors of raisins, figs, leather, candied ginger, nuts, and dark chocolate.
Finish
Lingering finish of pepper and demerara sugars, caramelised apples, pears and maraschino cherries. Very long, silky, and perfectly integrated, with sweet and smoky notes.
