One of Scotland's best-known blended Scotch brands and the flagship whisky property of drinks giant, Diageo. It was introduced in 1867 by John Walker & Sons and its range is headed up by its Red Label and smoky Black Label blends, and its premium Blue Label offerings. John Walker & Sons is a dormant subsidiary of the global drinks giant, Diageo, and its Johnnie Walker whiskies are its sales-leading products. This particular bottling is from the 1970s, a prosperous decade for Johnnie Walker Red Label, which was the most popular Scotch whisky sold in the world by then.

Smooth, medium body, nutty (roasted cashews), sweet (caramelized apple, vanilla, creamy toffee, honey, cotton candy, brown sugar), with notes of spice (cinnamon, pepper, cardamom), oak, and light smoke/peat, some fruit (peach, banana, orange oil, plum, cherry), and a briny sea air quality.
Finish
Long with lasting notes of brine and smoke, mixed oak, sweet cherry, stone fruit, vanilla, oak spice, light and gently smoky, peppery, with a touch of spiciness and fruity sweetness.
