Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend Bourbon is a premium, batch-driven whiskey crafted to complement the richness and complexity of a fine cigar. Developed by Master Blender Nancy Fraley, it combines Joseph Magnus Bourbon with older whiskey components, including 11 and 18-year-old whiskeys, before being finished in a combination of Armagnac, Sherry, and Cognac casks. This triple-barrel aging process results in a robust, opulent, and layered drinking experience. Each batch is blended and bottled separately, allowing the proof and exact flavor profile to vary. Nose
Dense and luxurious with aromas of dried figs, leather, pipe tobacco, dark cherry, and antique wood. Stewed fruits, brandy, oak, cranberries, light rye spices, and brown sugar are also present. [1, 12]
Palate
Full-bodied and decadent with layers of molasses, dates, cinnamon bark, toasted nuts, and a touch of dark chocolate. Rich toffee, dark dried fruit, vanilla bean, dried apricot, charred oak, brown sugar, and warming spice are also noted. [6, 12]
Finish
Long, warming, and layered, with hints of spiced plum, earthy oak, and Cognac-soaked fruit. Lingering tobacco, leather, dark fruit, toasted nuts, oak, and Armagnac-influenced sweetness are also found. A slight drying or leather note can mix in, with sweet fruit notes continuing to linger.
