Description

The Isle of Jura 10-year-old is a well-balanced and approachable single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 10 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Oloroso sherry butts from Jerez, Spain. This expression, often characterized by its yellow longitudinal label, represents the rebirth of the Jura distillery and the rebuilding of its community. It offers a delicate dance between subtle smoke and sweet fruitiness, making it an excellent introduction to the Jura spirit. [3, 7, 9, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 24, 25, 31, 32, 33]

Nose
Honeyed barley and peaches in syrup, with light wafts of fragrant wood smoke. Vanilla, orange, cracked black pepper, and dark chocolate notes are also present, alongside soft American white oak and a sweet aroma of honey. Malted grains, fresh bread, white grapes, apricots, sea spray, and a hint of pine complete the delicate profile. [3, 4, 6, 7]
Palate
Oily and subtly spicy, with earthy vanilla pod and chocolate-covered raisins. Nectarines, ginger, coffee, and toasted almonds emerge, complemented by gentle oak, caramel, and soft licorice. A full body with barley and sweet toffee, and hints of citrus on the back. [1, 3, 4, 6, 7]
Finish
Medium length and warming, with lingering sweetness and subtle oak nuances. Spices, a little bit of honey, pepper, and licorice flavors come through, rounded off with a touch of smoke. [1, 2, 4, 7]
