Description

From the Isle of Jura distillery, this 21-year-old Scotch whisky, named 'Time', is part of a two-bottle series (Time and Tide) released as travel retail exclusives. It was matured in American white oak bourbon barrels before being finished in ex-peated malt casks, resulting in a spirit with a sweet island smoke character.

Nose
Honeyed chocolate, coffee mousse, soft creamy toffee, lemon curd, lime marmalade, ginger cake, salted peat smoke. Rich and earthy with notes of coffee cake, orange marmalade, toffee, and a lacing of subtle, creamy smoke. Sweet buttery candy with a hint of dying fire embers and salty malt.
Palate
Turkish delight, fig syrup, tropical fruit salad, caramel, oranges, roast coffee beans, maple syrup and dark chocolate. Unusually fresh and bright with notes of orange slices, tinned pears, and cocktail cherries. Fruity, juicy sweetness balancing well against a subtle wood smoke that builds on the midpalate with notes of seasoned oak and toasted coconut. Hint of spice and peat.
Finish
Lingering finish of chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and dark maple syrup. More ex-peated cask influence with a familiar peaty, mossy note and balanced sweetness that stays around for a long time.
