A 2013 Jura Festival Bottling from the Boutique Barrels series. Distilled in 1999 and bottled at cask strength in 2013, this expression features a Triple Barrel Finish marrying liquid matured in a first fill bourbon barrel, a Burgundy barrique, and a 1963 vintage oloroso sherry butt.

The sherry-infused raisins and sun-dried fruit suit my taste for rich, fruit-led whisky, while the citrus keeps things lively. Peat smoke and sea spray give the finish a coastal turn. I like that contrast, though it takes the whisky away from the gentler sherry character I tend to favour.
