Description

Kanosuke Distillery single malt whisky is distilled, matured and bottled in Kyushu, the most southerly of Japan's four main islands. The Komasa family were pioneers in barrel-ageing shochus and bring this expertise in maturation to the production of Kanosuke Distillery's whiskies. Situated on Japan's longest sand beach, the distillery features a stunning tasting room called The Mellow Bar. This Kanosuke single malt is a well-balanced single cask, exclusively bottled for The Whisky Exchange. It was drawn from a first-fill bourbon barrel.

Nose
Fresh sweet and sour green apples, building notes of grain and hazelnuts, savoury buttery pastry with a dusting of cinnamon, and brown sugar touches. More fruit develops with time: fresh and dried apricots, rhubarb and barely ripe pineapple.
Palate
Rich and fruity, with layers of apple and pineapple, and custard. The fruit is joined by cinnamon and slivered almonds. Darker raisin and dark chocolate notes develop.
Finish
Nutty at first, fading to leave lingering orchard fruit and a touch of dark chocolate.
