Description
Based in Kagoshima, the Kanosuke distillery is run by Komasa Jyozo, one of the leading shochu makers in Kagoshima. Their claim to fame is a barrel-aged shochu called Mellowed Kozuru which was launched in 1957. The distillery opened and began distilling in late 2017 and is now producing bottles of its own whisky. This specific release, the Kanosuke 2018 New Born Peated, is a small batch release bottled at 58% ABV in a 20cl bottle, showcasing the distillery's early output. It was distilled in August 2018 and matured for 24 months in American white oak casks that previously held shochu.
