Description

A legendary Japanese single malt from the now-closed Karuizawa distillery, distilled between 1999 and 2000, representing some of the last spirit produced before its mothballing in 2000 and eventual dismantling in 2016. This "1st Edition" is part of the highly sought-after Cask Strength series, often featuring artwork from Hokusai's "36 Views of Mount Fuji" series, such as "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" on this bottle. It was bottled in 2015 exclusively for the Japanese market at a cask strength of 61.0% ABV. The distillery was known for using Golden Promise barley and often maturing its whiskies in sherry casks.
