Description
This Karuizawa 1982 Cask #2748 is a single malt Japanese whisky distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2009, making it a 27-year-old expression. It was matured in a first-fill sherry cask and bottled at cask strength (56.1% ABV). The Karuizawa distillery, located in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, was established in 1955 and became known for its high-quality, small-batch releases, often matured in sherry casks using 100% imported Scottish Golden Promise barley. The distillery ceased production in 2000 and closed in 2011, with its remaining stock becoming highly sought after. This particular bottling was released for The Whisky Exchange's 10th Anniversary.
