This limited bottling is part of a series of multi-vintage Karuizawa from the distillery's final years of production, each bottled at cask strength and labelled with a different image from the Fugaku Sanjurokkei or 36 Views of Mount Fuji print series. The series of Japanese woodblock prints were created by artist Katsushika Hokusai in the 1830's. The series was produced between 2015 and 2021 by Eric Huang's Hua Yang International Exhibition Co.
Historical context
Karuizawa distillery was mothballed in 2000, and this series uses the final two vintages (1999 and 2000) from the distillery's production.
