A collection of highly desirable Karuizawa single casks, produced initially by Number One Drinks for Speciality Drinks and later by Elixir Distillers. The instantly recognisable label designs were created by Elixir Distillers' creative director Raj 'Mr C' Chavda. A legendary name in Japanese whisky that developed significant cult status due to many exceptional releases of its whisky following its closure in 2000. The Murasaki, or Imperial Purple, Geishas are two bottles of exquisite sherry-aged Karuizawa bottled by Elixir Distillers exclusively for The Whisky Exchange. This 29-year-old single malt has myriad layers of rich red and white fruits, complex spice, incense and polished oak, and is a worthy example of Karuizawa's exceptional quality. Imperial Purple, or murasaki in Japanese, is a nod to the innate majesty that is geisha. Both single malts in this series were distilled in the early 1980s and transferred into demijohns when they had reached the peak of perfection. This is one of only 60 bottles.
