Description

Kavalan Distillery was founded in 2005 on an idea of taking Scottish methods of making whisky and importing that expertise to Taiwan for a wholly-owned Taiwanese distillery. After a great deal of research investment, the fruits of their labour were finally brought to the world with the first spirit being produced in March of the following year. The distillery is situated in the north-east of Taiwan. This is a special 10th Anniversary limited edition, matured in First Growth Bordeaux Margaux wine casks.

Beautiful aromatic caramel sauce infused with warming spices, thick, decadent dessert wine and simmering dark brown sugar, fresh fleshy fruit, gentle Cedarwood, lush red-berry fruits, blueberry, red apple, blackcurrant, Fabbri strawberries, peppercorn, wet slate, dry oak, wood spices, smoked meats, juicy fruits, delicate peach skin, strawberry cream, a squeak of tart raspberry.
Palate
Warming sweet arrival, melting of rich, buttery toffee studded with plump raisins, berry fruit flavors, thick caramel mouthfeel, explosion of pepper at high strength, red fruits, sponge cake, strawberries and cream, floral hibiscus notes, subtle hint of cinnamon.
Finish
Long and incredibly rewarding, sweetness mingles with gentle tart notes, front of the mouth spiciness, cooked fruits, throat-coating warmth, fresh fruits and muted wine spices hang around for a long finish.
