Description

Kavalan Solist Manzanilla is a limited and special edition single malt whisky from Taiwan, matured in Manzanilla sherry casks. Manzanilla sherry, produced by the sea, imparts a delicate saltiness and mineral flavors, which, combined with Taiwan's subtropical climate, lead to rapid and profound maturation. This creates a unique profile where tropical fruit notes meet the salinity and finesse of southern Spain. Bottled at cask strength, it offers an unfiltered intensity.

Nose
Chock-full of mystery aroma, with clear honeydew melon, complex multi-layered fruity flavors, toffee, cocoa, cider, and a coastal, light salty finish. Notes of brown sugar, drier sherry, grape juice, lemon, earthy undertones, and sometimes coffee beans or green apples.
Palate
Balanced body with slight saltiness, intense sweetness, vanilla, orange, melon, and mint. Very sweet arrival with brown sugar, caramel, creamed sugar, raisins, sultanas, cherries, dark red grapes, cocoa powder, nuts, leather, and cinnamon. Thick, viscous, and syrupy mouthfeel.
Finish
Long and smooth, with slowly fading raisin and brown sugar notes. Winey aspects of sherry build up, with a good mix of sweet and sour. Cocoa persists, along with juicy raisins and a slight waft of damson jam. Honeydew notes linger.
