Description

The first commercial single malt whisky distillery in Taiwan, built by the King Car Group in 2005 and producing its first spirit the following year. The distillery takes its name from the indigenous Kavalan people of Taiwan's Kabalan Plain and the brand was launched in December 2008. This Kavalan Selection Sherry Cask is a single cask bottling, specially selected for La Maison du Whisky, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2016.

Nose
Rich, rounded, with notes of plum juice, raisins, figs, cherries, and espresso. Hints of pipe tobacco, cinnamon, and orange with clove.
Palate
Hot and intense, with flavors of blackberries, prunes, cinnamon bark, nutmeg, and dark chocolate. Underlying notes of oak tannins, pepper, and dried fruits.
Finish
Very long and lingering, with tobacco, bittersweet cocoa powder, leather, and black cherries. Hints of sandalwood and damp oak.
