Description

Matured in top quality special edition Oloroso sherry casks, Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry is bottled at the distillery, without any colouring or chill-filtration. It is a naturally smooth and rich whisky with a complex character. Taiwan's extreme tropical heat accelerates the whisky's interaction with the wood, rapidly developing a richness and complexity that can take decades in cooler regions. This single cask, cask strength bottling delivers intense Oloroso cask influence.

Nose
Clean and complex with multi-layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices with some marzipan and vanilla touches. Expect dark berries, plum, red apples, lemongrass, raw leather, and fresh cut wood, with dark chocolate and almonds.
Palate
Rich, oily and full with pleasant dried fruit and spices that linger, plus a hint of fine coffee. A wallop of Oloroso character with plums, blackcurrant, cherries, caramel, milk chocolate, and brûléed sugar. Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and roasted coffee develop.
Finish
Long and indulgent, featuring spiced fruits, a warming sensation, and more nuttiness and ground coffee as it fades. Dried fig, raisin, and berry jam fade slowly into cocoa, espresso, and seasoned oak.
