Description

Kavalan Distillery was founded in 2005 in Taiwan, aiming to produce single malt whisky using Scottish methods adapted to the local climate. The Solist Vinho Barrique expression is fully matured in used American oak wine barrels that have been toasted and recharred, bringing out fruity vanilla notes and a complex, multi-dimensional background of pepper, spice, dates, ripe melon, mango, kiwi, and citrus fruits. It is bottled at cask strength and has won numerous awards, including World's Best Single Malt Whisky in 2015.
