Nose: Fine, profound. Initially, notes of dry grass (cut hay, alfalfa) quickly give way to strong spices (black pepper, clove) and candied citrus (lemon). With aeration, Kilchoman's naturally iodized and mineral character takes the forefront (seaweed, chalk).
Palate: Clear, precise. Radiant, the palate's entry is simultaneously vanilla, peaty, herbaceous, and saline.
Finish: Long, balanced. At the start of the finish, white flowers (jasmine, lily of the valley) and green tea flavors provide a very pleasant sensation of freshness to the palate.

The nose has a lovely contrast: black pepper and clove against candied lemon, with dry grass at the start and seaweed and chalk emerging with aeration. That meeting of spice and sweetness is the part I find most appealing. The palate brings vanilla alongside peat, herbs and salinity, while white flowers and green tea carry freshness into the long, balanced finish. There’s enough variety here to keep the character interesting without losing its clear shape.
