Description

Kilchoman Comraich Batch No. 5 is the fifth release in the Comraich series, distilled in June 2014 and bottled in February 2022. It was fully matured for over seven years in four fresh ex-Port hogsheads and bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.5% ABV. This limited release produced 1,007 bottles and is exclusively available from Kilchoman's Comraich bars, which are a global network of establishments dedicated to the enjoyment of Kilchoman Single Malt.

Nose
Pungent, earthy peat with woody notes of pine cones and bark, citrus, nuts, strudel, extinguished matchstick, and nutmeg. Smoky component with roasted fruit (apple, pineapple), pine nuts, walnuts, liquorice, and burning wood. Layers of red berries, candied fruits, citrus, and caramel.
Palate
Sweet with black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, and sylvan smoke. Good structure and oiliness with crisp blond orange, tamarind, nuts, liquorice, and a lively balsamic note. Creamy vanilla and warming maritime peat smoke.
Finish
Long, balsamic finish of toasted citrus and fruit, pepper, burnt wood, and liquorice.
