Description

Kilchoman, which came online in 2005, was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 124 years. The Loch Gorm 2023 Release is an annual limited edition named after Islay's largest freshwater loch, matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks from the renowned bodega Jose Miguel Martin. This release is a vatting of 22 casks, with whiskies distilled in 2013, 2014, and 2015, matured for a minimum of 8 years. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with natural color.

Maltiply Tasting Profile
Nose
Intense sweet pipe smoke, followed by waves of freshly cut strawberries and candied lemon peel. Hints of cacao with an essence of leather, black cherry and light smoke.
Palate
Dark chocolate and toasted walnuts, gentle tobacco smokiness, hints of caramel and dates accompanied by subtle warming peat smoke. Fresh citrus, aromatic spices, tinned peaches, and salty peat smoke.
Finish
Long and evolving with cinnamon and liquorice wood, chocolate bitters and lingering earthy smoke. Ginger and orange zest linger, with a balanced and long finish with fresh Islay sea breeze.
