Description

Kilchoman, which came online in 2005, was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 124 years. The 2023 PX Sherry Cask Matured release is the first limited edition from Kilchoman fully matured in PX casks. Matured for a minimum of five years in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks previously used by Bodega José y Miguel Martin, Jerez, Spain. This expression combines intense peat smoke with deep sherried sweetness, delivering a full-bodied and indulgent dram.

Nose
Sweet sultanas and raisins with rounded peat smoke, layers of liquorice and hints of citrus sweetness. Light wood, ginger, orange flower water, beach bonfire ash and soot.
Palate
Brown sugar and malty sweetness, orange peel, citrus, dark chocolate and waves of sherry sweetness. Rich and full-bodied with smoky peat, dried fruits, caramel, and warming spice.
Finish
Chocolate coated raisins, oak smoke, mixed spices and lasting PX sweetness. Long and warming with lingering smoke, sweet sherried richness, dark chocolate, and soft spice.
