Description
Established in 2005, Kilchoman (pronounced Kil-ho-man) is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. Based on a farm on the rugged west coast of Islay, it was the first distillery to be built on the island for 124 years. Founded by the Wills family, the distillery brought about the grass-roots traditions of malt distilling to Islay, using its own barley fields, traditional floor malting and kilns. This PX Sherry Cask Finish was distilled on 11.6.2009 and bottled on 17.7.2014. It was matured for over four and a half years in a Bourbon-Barrel before being transferred to a fresh PX Sherry Hogshead for a further four months maturation.
