Description
Kinahan's can trace its heritage all the way back to 1779 but after an illustrious history at the forefront of Irish Whiskey production its fortunes declined in the 20th century. Now Kinahan's has stormed back onto the scene focussing on rare wood types and different techniques for the maturation process. The Special Release Project series is an example of this innovation with a range of different releases matured in specially selected casks. Kinahan's 11 Years Old Release #18 2008 is matured for a number of years in first fill ex-bourbon white American oak casks. It is then further matured in Merlot wine casks which give it a characteristic rose coloured tint as well as some exceptional flavours. This very limited release of only 300 bottles is a rare drop of quality Irish whiskey bottled at cask strength with no chill filtration and only natural colour.
