Description

Established in 2009, Kingsbarns is one of Scotland's newer distilleries. Former golf caddie Douglas Clement initially tried to raise funds himself but the project was eventually bought out by Wemyss Distillery Ltd enabling the distillery, along with a visitor centre, to be opened in late 2014. This is the third release in the Founders Reserve series, distilled in 2017 and matured for three years in peated whisky barrels.

Nose
Berries and vanilla aromas with malty tones, hints of overly ripe fruit, blackberry, and a slight vegetal note, followed by honeyed malt cereal with a light dusting of cinnamon and greenhouse flowers.
Palate
Smooth and sweet with vanilla cream notes, honey, and a sugary, creamy vegetation. With water, it becomes softer with a more pronounced creamy vanilla.
Finish
A youthful, slightly metallic sweetness with a noticeable bite.
