Description
Founded by John Thomson in 1896, Knockando distillery owns the sole rights to tap the Cardnach spring before it reaches the Spey. In 1904, the distillery was purchased by London gin giants, W&A Gilbey, who utilised Knockando's pale, golden coloured malt in their signature blend, J&B. Loosely translated from the Gaelic for 'little black hill', Knockando's distillery, which is simply named after the village in which it stands. This 12 year old Knockando is part of the Manager's Dram series, which was selected by malt distillery managers from Diageo and bottled at natural cask strength. These whiskies were available exclusively to employees of Diageo.
