Description

A limited edition 21-year-old single malt from the Knockdhu distillery, bottled at natural cask strength of 57.5%. This bottling uses the original distillery name, Knockdhu, which was phased out in favor of anCnoc in the mid-1990s. Matured for at least 21 years in a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry oak casks, it offers a rich balance of citrus brightness and deep, honeyed oak.

Nose
Rich honey, toffee, sweet vanilla from American oak. Bright notes of ripe green apples, lemon peel, subtle orange marmalade. Light floral or herbal touch. Lush aromas of stewed fruit, apricot and banana, orange zest with a hint of cinnamon, mint, herbs and fine oak spice.
Palate
Extremely rich and full-bodied, smooth and velvety. Complex, dominated by baked apples, milk fudge, creamy vanilla, developing spice (ginger, black pepper). Oak influence present but well-controlled. Fruit jam, bananas, raisins and juicy Seville oranges, creamy honey and caramel. Warming spices, malt sugar, creamy toffee, fine herbal notes, hint of tobacco leaves.
Finish
Long, warm, and highly satisfying. Notes of malt, apple and orange peel linger, with oak spice providing a gentle, warming fade. Smooth texture remains prominent. Soft and persistent, becoming a little drier later with cocoa and a touch of oak.
